Backstage with Chloe Leigh
Chloe Leigh has been adorning stages on the Costa Blanca for years. She has acted in and sang the title song for Cucarucha Club a film that was made in Torrevieja mainly using local people and entertainers. Chloe has rockin good show and also performs a Cher Tribute Show, an Abba Tribute Show, in an eighties-based show called ‘Vortex’. Always the entertainer and enjoys keeping her act fresh by adding new content and shows.

Tell us about you.
I am a singer / entertainer and actress, I perform all types of music from Country to Rock as well as a tribute to Cher, and my ABBA - Abbalicious - show is back now with my daughter. Shania twain tribute show is in the making.
How did you start in the business?
I started at 14/15 in my first band, we all were that age and gigged for free to gain experience, I was super shy!!! I have been in the business 35 years.
What would you be doing if you were not an entertainer?
Probably an English Teacher or in business as a retail owner (I used to run retail companies plus a shop of my own in Gran Canarias).
As an entertainer who has been your biggest influence?
Whitney Houston and all the oldies like Dionne Warwick, Petula Clark, and Connie Francis.
Do you ever get nervous or have you suffered stage fright?
Oh yes, had stage fright quite recently for no reason, I always get a little nervous at new gigs/venues but it soon passes, it’s normal.
What was your best moment?
Performing (5 times) in front of 25 thousand people screaming at me, singing for 3.5 thousand at the 02 comes a close second place.
What has been your worst moment?
Singing in bars with no one inside - soul destroying! It’s boring, robotic and makes me want to pack it all in (until the next good night).
What’s the best piece of advice you have received or would give someone starting out in the business?
Join a band, work with musicians and learn the business and your craft
Any little anecdotes or interesting stories?
I’ve worked with a few celebrities in my time and some amazing musicians, some have been so drunk we have had to cover their backs but we are all human, they get nervous too! But when your male dancer who is wearing little sparkly shorts / pants and he’s dancing all out (ALL OUT) and he’s getting a standing ovation ... You have to laugh, couldn’t do anything else. I was asked to do a gig in a Swinging Resort, what an eye opener, when people say imagine your audience naked ...no need ...they was !!! All of them naked - naked dancers, naked air guitarists etc. I can honestly say I’VE SEEN IT ALL, and yes I was re-booked ! Ha-ha
